I’ve recently received some feedback that my coffee talk topics have been missed, so by popular demand, I am bringing them back. It’s time for this Month’s Topic. I’ve decided to rename this regular series as Coffee Talk because it reminds me of SNL where Mike Meyers would give a topic and have people talk amongst themselves about it.
UPDATE: THIS SERIES WAS POSTED HERE
If you are a new reader to this site, a couple of good examples of this series are Monkey Personal Finances and 12 Days of Christmas posts from around the web. Due to the diversity of the writers that participate, it’s always super fun to see what people come up with
Rules:
- Write an article with the following as a topic: “What my Dysfunctional ________ taught me about ________.”
- The article must feature a loved one and an interesting topic. For example, it could be “What my dysfunctional brother in law taught me about budgeting” all the way to “What my dysfunctional grandmother taught me about woman’s suffrage.”
- If interested mark your calendar for Aug 30th now so you don’t forget about it.
- Try to go outside your writing comfort zone. Stretch yourself. Pick two things that seemingly don’t go together and make it work.
- Help me spread the word.
- Post on August 30th.*
- Link back to this site or email me so that I know you participated.
- I will post a master round up list at the end of my Aug 30th article. Others can copy and paste it into their own article if desired.
- Read other’s posts, laugh, have fun, and promote your fellow blogger.
*Note, if you don’t have a blog of your own but would like to post your own content, you can also send me your article and I can post it up on my site.
Here are some articles and bloggers that have participated in past coffee talks. I hope to see them participate in this series again along with some newer bloggers. The day is always extremely entertaining because we are all so different from each other in writing styles and area of expertise.
